I went to the bluetooth screen of my car and selected the options for my Contacts and they were already beginning to transfer (very fast process, less than a minute). Download the trial version to ensure that this allows your vehicle to transfer your contacts over The first two options are the applications that worked for meĥ. Type in 'Bluetooth Phonebook' in the search fieldĤ. I did just today discover probably the easiest fix (especially for those of us with the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, as I have):ģ. After doing some lengthy searching online I found several forums such as this where people were experiencing similar problems with a wide variety of make and models of vehicles. I was then able to save the contact as one of the speed dials, but not able to edit to provide a name. The only way this was working for me was to either dial from my phone or manually enter the phone number via the touchscreen. I was having issues with transferring my contacts to the vehicle to make calls. I just recently purchase a 2014 Toyota Camry SE not realizing that my model did not have the voice activated bluetooth controls to make phone calls and such. Once this is done, turn off the Bluetooth like above and turn on again and the car connects and you should see your contacts appear. (it may work with other groups i haven't tried)Īll my contacts were 'Not assigned' to a group so therefor not synced to the car. Now, to get the contact on the idrive you need to edit each individual contact and assign it to the group 'My Contacts'. Once it connects then another popup asks for permission to access the phone. The car then disconnects, then turn it back on and you'll get a pop up saying connecting. Once this is done turn off the Bluetooth on the phone in the drop down menu from the home screen. I did this by completing the pairing between car and phone as normal. I found that you firstly need to make sure that the car can access the phone book. Just purchased a Galaxy S3 and found the same problem with syncing contacts to my BMW E90 idrive.Ĭonnecting via bluetooth was fine but no names and numbers on screen. I have a brand new car and expensive phone and can't use the voice dialing technology. Seems like cars need tech support now beyond the mechanical maintenance. Since a few of you had success with the Bluetooth transfer app, please let me know how you did it, were there any special settings on phone or car etc? Auto download of contacts on or off for instance on car Bluetooth setting? Any help much appreciated. My phone registered that the files were transferring but the car never recognized the contacts. I did download the bluetooth file transfer app on my phone and selected various contacts and sent. The cars system won't allow me to edit, delete or add my own contacts, ying to adjust and resend what I want from the phone. Some contacts download, but many with a number and no names, and I don't know where they are pulling them off my phone, but only biz contacts and no personal. I am having trouble getting my contacts to download, so I have tried all of the things that you have all suggested. I have an HTC EVO 3D and I just bought a Hyundai Veloster.
